About us

Andrew and Sarah Godfrey, husband and wife team, founded the company in 1995. We saw so much ‘dodgy’ accommodation during Sarah’s student days in Nottingham we knew we could do much, much better.

Sarah has a degree in interior design and Andrew is a civil engineer, together this combines solid construction with design flair ie a shower that works in a bathroom that looks good.



We believe that the key to successful letting is to provide good quality accommodation at the right price and treat our tenants as we would want to be treated ourselves.

Spaces to let employs a team of qualified, experienced plumbers, builders, joiners and decorators. This means that when we have built or renovated your stylish accommodation, we are on hand to carry out any maintenance. All work is carried out by trades people that work for us and are a trusted integral part of our business, no cowboy traders in your home!

We take pride in dealing with our tenants in person, some of them have been with us from the outset. Perhaps starting out in a shared student house, then sharing with friends and finally on to their first flat with a partner. (We are waiting for our first wedding invite). Obviously not all of our tenants are in such happy personal circumstances. It is a sad fact that there are more and more people moving into accommodation on their own because their relationships have broken down, we hope we treat these people with kindness and compassion.



In 2004, we built a block of eight flats in Sherwood Rise. This was a new venture for us. We are both committed to environmental issues and the building was designed to incorporate low energy costs in both the building itself and in the amount of energy required to keep it warm. In fact the insulation is so effective it doesn’t need any central heating, body heat should be sufficient. (We did install heating to be on the safe side). This has to be good news for electricity and gas bills. The building looks good as well!
